A native of Harlem, USA, Crystal Shaniece Roman was born into an
artistic family. Her great grandfather was a musician in the Duke
Ellington band and her uncle has played along side Latin music legends
including the late Tito Puente, Santana and Marc Anthony. In 2005,
she graduated from the College of Staten Island where she received a
Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Management with a minor in Sociology.
In 2006, Crystal played the lead role in the New York International
Film Festival award winning film, A Weapon Most Unusual.
She recently completed production on the film, Tangle Eye Blues with
Moonshine Films and is the current spokesperson for Mono Machines.
In 2009, together with Jesenia Bailey, she helped create the sketch comedy/variety show AY QUE FUNNY, which debuted at the
NuyoRican Poets Cafè in NYC - and this year (2010) they're
entering their 2nd season - & performing at the National Comedy Theater!
In 2009, Crystal wrote a play entitled "Black Latina", about
the lives of dark-skinned Latinas and African American Latinas
produced by her company, Shaniece Entertainment, formed in 2008.
Crystal is also adapting the play into a feature film that will be
released in 2010.
